Foot Projection

After completing the body images project, our E-media class was assigned to take part of that image and project it onto a part of out bodies.

Because a lot of my project focused on foot bindings, I took the image of the woman with the wrapped foot and projected it onto my foot. The projection shows the contrast of culture and aesthetic appeals.

Ambassador Hotel Project (e-media)

Using the history of the infamous Ambassador Hotel, I combined images with preconceived notions to create a narrative for the hotel.

Using clipping masks in Illustrater, I took two scenes (outdoors and indoors) to show that not everything is what it seems. The people on the outside may be dangerous people or victims themselves.

E-media Body Images

This project was made using scanned images from library books in addition to magazine cutouts.

The main question of my project is, "What is beautiful?" Every culture has different ideals for what is beautiful. Women go to great lengths to fit this ideal, whether it is foot-binding, neck coiling, of plastic surgery.

E-media Body of Evidence Project

This project was made using both photoshop and illustrater. The idea was to use photographs to show something about your past and your present. In this project, I wanted to show images of my road to college tennis by collaging old tennis pictures in the windows of the van. The faded pictures are supposed to represent the past, while the images in the foreground are showing where I am right now.
