Bag Project Fall 05'

The objective of this project was to create a shopping bag for a store that specializes in a certain product. The bag needs to be appropriate for that store meaning size, color, and style needs to reflect the store's needs. I made a bag for Dean and Deluca, which is an upscale grocery store that sells high end products from all over the world. The bag has expandable pockets which allows the customer to hold more products. The bag also has an expandable pouch at the bottom that is meant to hold a baguette but can also hold an umbrella if it's raining.

Campus View Spring 05'

Drawing 1 Spring 2005 - This piece was done during class from 6-9 PM in the spring. Through the course of drawing, the sky changed from light to dark which made my piece change over time as well. This is the view from my classroom looking out over campus. I made light sketches in pencil but most was done unplanned with black conte crayon.

charcoal drawing 1 abstract

Drawing 1 Spring 2005 - Every member of the class was given a small object that they were to draw on their paper. Ten the entire class rotated with their object and had to draw their object over with whatever instructions were given (from different perspectives, blended, using dots only, etc). When the class finished the rotation, the instructions were to pull out pieces that were of interest and to make the piece look whole. I used conte crayon, pencil, and marker.

newspaper project

Graphic Design Fall 05' - The goal for this project was to redo the layout for a major newspaper while keeping the newspaper's identity. The Charlotte observer has a modern style with sans serif fonts. Some of the changes I made from the origonal newspaper are: placing both college football articles around the center picture. I added the school's colors and logos to each article. I also color coded the directory to rank importance.
